click here to see all of the snaps thus far

e.t.d.

ten days

they are finished and all dressed

ready to set off on their journeys

for the eight days to come, i will introduce each of our  “walk with me” #NBO12 sticks

i am excited for the start of their adventure

the concept has lived in me for some time now

the intention of the project is to allow the night to shape a collaborative inter-active piece in celebration of connectedness, both within ourselves and with those among us. inviting others to actively collaborate taps into the energy of what is most beautiful in life, self-love, connection, self-expression, fun, creation, community

join the flickr group to follow the action starting during Nuit Blanche Ottawa september 22

the group is the canvas for the project. as photos of the journeys are uploaded and shared, the snaps will start to paint a, some, picture

watch the collage take shape

(she hopes! fingers crossed!)

i wonder where we will go?

carry the one

not so long ago, the postman delivered a package of scraps from australia

for my part in collage artist Joel Lambeth’s collaborative project “carry the one” i turn to my ladies

using only the bits of paper supplied (and a smidgen of paint) on the tiny canvas

my nudes have become a series (…with three more pieces on the way)

scraps of paper from around the world, this time it is Edgar for whom i bow deeply

la petite d’edgar – collage and acrylic 5″x 7″

after the bath – Edgar Degas

now off to the post office to mail the piece back to australia

travel well, doll

best of luck Joel!

thank you for the collaboration

before us

while in montreal on saturday i stole this snap at the Tom Wesselmann retrospective at the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts

(i later learned that photos were allowed. ha!)

Tom Wesselmann  Smoker No. 1, on show at the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts

the show is a good one

his early work spoke loudly to me

starting with collage then moving to the female nude

with nods to the greats

i feel a kindred spirit

his later steel-cut work is impressive, but i like the nudes

i found great, yet subtle, humour throughout

the documentation accompanying the art was also of great interest to me

i take to pop art one artist at a time

my gratitude to Mr. Wesselmann for his body of work and the inspiration it provided

come out you beautiful & damned

collaborative project for the upcoming Nuit Blanche Ottawa 2012

artist Robert Brazeau’s tableaux

” enter the most decadent era of the 20th century – the 1920’s.

new york, paris, chicago

the dandies, the independently wealthy , the artists of their age

a decade of aesthetics, social debauchery, excess ”

” the style, the characters and the ambiance are to be re-created, not  observed

experienced, not observed”

during NBO12, visual artist and photographer Robert Brazeau will,  through his lens, capture a 21st century response to this magnificent era and environment

heARTbeatgal and illustrator/cartoonist/orator Otis P Gould III hope to add to the authenticity, as characters to be found in the speakeasy crowd

professional models and enthusiasts of the period Lola Lovestory, Derek Ruston and Marley Lewington will bring their interpretation of the style, glamour and attitude of the era

the experiment completes as Social’s customers and NBO12 participants are lured into the environment, encouraged to release their inhibitions, immerse themselves in the experience of the often excessive and artistic social culture of the 1920’s

hBg is making a call to the universe, and more specifically those with a fetish for the era, to come collaborate with us the evening of September 22, 2012 at Social restaurant

it’s gonna be fuuun!
