people of ottawa
you have NEVER disappointed me
chinatown re-mixed was a total blast!
i made many wonderful connections and had fun with the over two hundred people who stopped to play my games
my many thanks and congratulations to the people of re-mixed! you are a stellar community putting together a smashing event!
i am now working on a way to display them for nuit blanche ottawa gatineau 2014
each one is special
together they are powerful
thank you all!
early morning CKCU interview…
good for a laugh
i never know what is going to come flying out of my mouth!
hope to see folks out tomorrow for chinatown re-mixed
i plan on all day fun!
countdown is on
crossing your fingers and toes for a beautiful next saturday
my people are taking to the streets (just one street really) in the name of art and community!
come out and play!
i want to know ‘what makes you human?’
i will have a tent set up on the corner of Bronson and Sommerset, right next to a mailbox!
rain or shine i plan on FUN!
‘nostalgia for business’ oil & collage 9″x12″
found rare time for some collage
a complicated colourful little homage to Landsdown
makes me smile about an otherwise unfortunate situation
i cannot possibly condone the goings on of the current developers
it will forever be sacred ground for me
i witnessed Miss Jackson’s (…cause i’m nasty) Rhythm Nation tour august 21, 1990
i also remember fondly sitting shotgun as a little girl while my dad did doughnuts in the large empty snow dusted parking lot some cold ottawa winter night in the ’80s
…now i look forward to the fond memories i am going to make at ‘whole foods’
this is actually the very first ‘what makes you human?’ postcard to have arrived some weeks ago
it came close from home
communication is not reserved for humans alone
leaving a creative mark
testing (…abusing perhaps these days) the boundaries of communication
having an opinion
taking a stand
this is human
and it all starts with a ‘hi there!’
i was completely taken with the trees in south america
true, i am easily charmed by trees of any sort
the bark was remarkable!
buenos aires comes by its name honestly
a charming, breezy, melange of architecture and trees
covered in graffiti!
it is legal there
woot woot! i had a blast
what should not be legal are the portions of beef they serve. EVERYWHERE!
of particular note was the collection of contemporary latin american art at MALBA
political, vibrant, intriguing, humourous, alive. good stuff.
the antiques in san telmo were another joy
a year could be spent sorting through them. fun.
porteños are a friendly big-city bunch if you engage them a little
black and yellow taxis dot the city like confetti
often, a certain type of argentine gentleman was at the wheel, willing to impart some interesting insight
a toast of fernet branca to my lovely time spent in BA! salud!
muchas gracias argentina!
hasta la próxima!
i had the very good fortune to spend some time discovering uruguay
i was charmed by its nature
relaxed and friendly
with the most handsome livestock
driving the highways felt like an ad for the car i was in
beautiful beaches for days
my time was gentle and excellent
met some truly amazing people
my many thanks to Pueblo Eden, Punto del Diablo and Colonia
uruguay…until we meet again
p.s. stay tuned for my snaps of Buenos Aires! besos.
