i am a stand-up comedy nerd

so when i heard that dave chappelle, flight of the conchords, al madrigal, hannibal buress, kristen schaal, demetri martin and jeff ross were coming to hartford, connecticut with their oddball comedy & curiosity festival, i hopped in my car and drove seven hours. in a heartbeat.

the back of my head enjoyed dave chappelle less

i was so excited to see him and for his big return

however

he did not perform

he smoked cigarettes

chatted with a lady in the audience

mostly he just told us we were a bad audience and left the stage after his contractual twenty-five minutes

i have conflicted feelings

it made me sad

so in sum, laugh, laugh, laugh, happy, happy, laugh, happy, confused, sad, still pretty happy

my many thanks to the other acts

a night i won’t soon forget
